MEET JACKIE

A California native, Jackie Stewart moved to New York City with a sense of adventure, a B.A. in both Communication Studies and Leadership in Organization, and an introspective nature. Fascinated with interpersonal relationships and a ravenous appetite for learning, she continued her education at New York University, graduating with a Master’s degree from the School of Culture, Education, and Human Development . At the same time, Jackie was also building a strong career and presence for herself within the global fashion and entertainment industries. Paralleling these two major forces, the need for finding a mindful balance between those external worlds and her own inner life of feeling “whole and enough” became very clear, very quickly. An explorer at heart, Jackie began to discover how to look within. On retreat at a monastery in Nepal, she deeply connected with Tibetan Buddhist teachings and has been exploring the various lineages in earnest ever since.

Having completed The Interdependence Project's year-long meditation teacher training, The Open Center's Integrative Sound and Music practitioner certification, as well as UC Berkeley’s Science of Happiness Program, she hopes to fuse this inner and outer world connection for others. She is currently continuing her studies with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and serves as a practice leader in his international community, Tergar.

Jackie can be found in NYC teaching meditation and mentoring teacher trainees at MNDFL, online with Alo Moves, and on your smart device through the Journey LIVE app. She is also a faculty member of Dharma Moon's Yearlong Buddhist Studies Program with Ethan Nichtern. Jackie is the mindfulness advisor for Rose & Rex, where she regularly contributes mindful parenting articles. She also leads the Mindfulness LAB for Mindful Birth, a supportive community nurturing women through their transformation into motherhood and beyond. Her work has been featured in Shape, Cosmo, and TimeOut NY publications. She has guest lectured at Universities across the country, from University of Washington to Columbia University, and taught for companies like Microsoft, Reebok, Live Nation, Ralph Lauren, and many others.

Outside of teaching, mentoring, and contributing to these communities, Jackie works to intentionally put mindfulness into action through involvement in social activism, leading corporate meditations, philanthropic work, and most recently, motherhood. She invites her community in as family by co-facilitating Sound Meditations alongside her husband throughout New York City  (jimmyandjackie.com).
